UPRISING: Meet Eselayem Slim

 

 

Eselayem  Slim (born Paul Banda on 17th June 1989 in Lusaka, Zambia) is a Zambian Singer-Songwriter, Music Producer, DJ, AidsActivist and Ambassador to the Brothers for Life Campaign [Zambia] launched byUNICEF with support of the Government of the Republic of Zambia.

 

His Debut Single “Me” was released on 1st December2010, which featured in the MTV Staying Alive one-off reality TV Show “Me,Myself and HIV” along with another single “Wachelwa” released on the same date.His third single “Do You Better” and fourth single “Keeper” were releaseddigitally on 26th December 2011 and 21st January 2012respectively, followed by his debut Mixtape, Proof, released on 31stMarch 2012.

 

From the time his music production career kicked off in 2007,Eselayem Slim has worked/produced with/for the likes of Slap Dee, JK, TAZ, PaulDa’ Prince, P Jay and Ruff Kid. He has also recorded a few cover songs, such as“Best of Me” (Tyrese) and “Through the wire” (Kanye West).

 

With much of his influence coming from the likes of R. Kelly,Usher, Chris Brown, Ne Yo, Tyrese, LL Cool J and Jay Z, his mixtape is proofthat he is a truly gifted and creative artist.
