Gospel Corner: How To Handle Temptation 2 of 3

Gospel Corner: How To Handle Temptation 2 of 3

(Matthew 4 vs 5-7)

“Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple.” (Matthew 4:5).

If you think Church is the last place Satan will tempt you from, am very sorry ; you are wrong.
Infact, its that one place he makes people boast, pride and despair.
In Matthew 4 vs 5, Jesus was taken to the HOLY CITY ; Satan surely walks up to the holy of hollies if he has to in order for him to get what he wants.
Its at the highest point of the temple that Jesus was taken. You may be a church elder, youth leader, praise team lead singer or any other minister of any sort. The more people you have looking up to you, the more the devil will want you to fall so you can bring a one third with you; when the devil was exiled in heaven, he brought a one third with him.

This time, Jesus was taken to his comfort zone ; Holy City.
And Satan with his ‘if theory’ once more ;

“If you are the Son of God”, he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written: “‘He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.'” (Matthew 4:6).

Satan is using scripture from Psalms 91 vs 11 and 12 to push Jesus to trust and rely on The Father for protection.
Some one can be able to quote the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, speak words of great encouragement and faith yet their Heart is filled with enmity for God.
Enough people misquote the scriptures for personal interest, selfishness and alike. One of the most common but misquoted scriptures is Matthew 7 vs 1, ‘Judge not that ye be not judged’, alot of people find this to be a loophole to not speaking out when something is not right saying ‘am not judgemental’. Look up 1Cor 2 vs 5 and understand this better.

In verse 7, Jesus resists the misquote not with urguement or saying, ‘whatever I ask of the Father is given unto me’, but with another quote from Deutronomy 6 vs 16 ; Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'” (Matthew 4:7).

For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.(Hebrews 4:12).
The word of God is a weapon; it can be used for or against you.
Its very dangerous to close your Bible and forget when you don’t understand something. Go and talk to your church elders, pastors, youth leaders or any other minister of the word for clarity. He who asks is ignorant for a while, but he who keeps quite is ignorant forever.
Dont hesitate, approuch someone everytime you have have trouble with understanding.

A SINGLE MOTHER: The strength,Pain, Love and Fear.

A SINGLE MOTHER: The strength,Pain, Love and Fear.

We ask what is a single mother? Is she a woman with much strength and love or pain and fear? Maybe she’s the devil in disguise or perhaps the angel beneath the pain.

Could she be a woman of much style and grace?

One thing is for certain; no one can understand what a single mother is unless they experience the feeling themselves. A single mother is a woman who is filled with everlasting, unconditional love, and words of wisdom to guide the way through life.

A single mother doesn’t recieve much credit today for the way she dedicates her life to working long hard hours and making time in her busy schedule to take care of what is hers. She goes through life trying so hard to do her best for her child, yet sometimes she feels as if the world is caving in, although one thing goes up, another one comes down.

People with traditional standards always seem to say, ” How dare she bear a child alone with no husband!” They don’t understand the concept that life doesn’t always turn out the way we planned. We don’t always get what we want.

Very judgmental people snarl and stare as the single mother walks by with her beautiful little girl for whom she has sacrificed her life. If she needs a jacket or a pair of shoes, yet her child does too, her child comes first. She puts all of her wants and needs aside for the sake of her child.
The relationship between a mother and a child is very special and that is as good as truth. A mother means the world to a child, it is she who protects, nourishes, and bestows her child with love and care. It is she who sacrifices many things in life to give the best to her children.
Some say a mother is one who bears children, one who cooks and cleans and that’s all she is here for. For me, she’s the soothing of the soul and the healing of the heart.

A mother: a kind-hearted woman with much strength, wisdom, and integrity.

A Mother’s Love

A Mother’s love is something
that no on can explain,
It is made of deep devotion
and of sacrifice and pain,
It is endless and unselfish
and enduring come what may
For nothing can destroy it
or take that love away . . .
It is patient and forgiving
when all others are forsaking,
And it never fails or falters
even though the heart is breaking . . .
It believes beyond believing
when the world around condemns,
And it glows with all the beauty
of the rarest, brightest gems . . .
It is far beyond defining,
it defies all explanation,
And it still remains a secret
like the mysteries of creation . . .
A many splendored miracle
man cannot understand
And another wondrous evidence
of God’s tender guiding hand.

“To the pursuers of Jesus he had given a sign, saying,’whomsoever I shall kiss that same is he:hold him fast,’i guess we know the story of gethsemane.because Judas was taken by the earthly riches he had a terrible death of hunging himself..due to that I say,”whoever attempts to live apart from GOD is wasting his substance. He is squandaring the precious years, squandaring the powers of mind and heart and soul, and working to make himself bankrupt for eternity and is a slave of mammon.brethren let you remember how Christ suffered before taking any action in our lives. We are bought pricelessly but we sold him and we are still sealing him with a price its terrible.

Galatians 5:14 for all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this;thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself not forgeting that there are many who need our sympathy and advice, but not that advice which implies superiority in the giver and inferiority in the receiver

Access to education.

Access to Education

Education continues foster personal and economic development in Zambia, Africa and at a global level and yet it has not been priority for most African countries strategy of attaining stainable development through education. Gordon Brown (by then Prime minister) every child should have a chance to go to school.

To start with higher education is not accessible by most young people with good grade 12 results; a lot of talented youths have their dreams and visions shattered because their skills cannot be enhanced in any way.

In the 2007-08 Human Development Index which measures among other things education levels, names Zambia as among the worst in Southern Africa Development Conference SADC, Tanzania (159), Angola (162) Malawi (166), Zambia (165), and the war-torn-DRC came at (168). Mauritius which has a score of (65) the best HDI followed by South Africa (121), Botswana (124), Namibia (125), Lesotho (138), and Swaziland (141) and Madagascar (143).

The number of young people in increasing at a faster rate and the government of the day has a duty to make sure that these young people are empowered in various ways such as building more Universities, Collages, schools, identify the talent that lies in young people and enhance them, promote youth educational exchange or else I’m   a faired with this current state of affairs, this situation poses a serious threat to our generation which highly realizes on technology, innovation, full of developments and discoveries needs this education.

The few Universities we have are in bad shape. The conditions for students  are bad such as over enrollment, luck of proper accommodation, luck of proper access to updated books in libraries, for schools pupils to teacher ratio is unacceptable because there too many pupils.

I urge the powers that be to seriously consider educating more young people who hold the future of country and continent in their hands. Barack Obama, US president once said the future belongs to the nation that best educates its citizens.

Yes youth can!!!

African Fabrics and Fashion.Trend or inspiration?

Growing up in Africa

To some of us, this is more than just a pretty cloth. Not some, “getting acquainted with the motherland” sh**. Excuse my french  but this recent trend and surge in “African-inspired” clothing/fabric/print or what haves, gets on my nerves a little; And yes, I know, a lot of African designers are behind the “movement” but I can’t help but think that a part of my culture (or
various African cultures) is simply being sold as another “ooh-la-la” fashionable commodity in the West.

Africans have been wearing this sort of fabric for a pretty long time, being looked at funny in Western countries for doing so, but as soon a few celebrities or magazines showcase these fashions, it becomes the latest trend and “must-have” items.

It’ll be fun to see how long this lasts, but one thing I do know for sure is – as with the rest of my ancestors – I won’t be buried in a mundane dress, but rather in colourful traditional attire, with all my present relatives wearing coordinated chitenge outfits or Musisis. Even if said, fabrics are no longer considered fashionable in the West.
